Postdoctoral Position in Digital Health at the University of Zurich 100 %
Digital Health Zurich (DHZ) is a new research initiative between the University of Zurich (UZH), Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) and praxis partners (hospitals, pharma and others). The goal of the project is to investigate digital health solutions in the hospital context and implement them efficiently and with practical relevance. Core topics are Patient Reported Outcome Measure (PROMs), remote monitoring, integrated care and related technologies as well as empowerment of patients and staff. Our vision is to establish a sustainable, data-driven and cross-institutional digital ecosystem by connecting patients, health professionals, technology and research in Zurich and beyond. To accomplish this, we focus on translating research and developing sustainable real-world digital health solutions, taking the needs of patients and health providers into account, pursuing a participatory approach, supporting efficient and cross-institutional collaboration and promoting digital innovation in the Zurich healthcare system and beyond.
Your responsibilities
We are currently looking for a motivated and innovative PostDoc in Digital Health who will be responsible for clinical PROM trials (planning, execution and data analysis). The position is limited to two years with the possibility for extension. The PostDoc will be in the group of Prof. Michael Krauthammer (Chair of Medical Informatics). The PostDoc will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Development of the clinical trial protocols involving a broad set of stakeholders (physicians, nurses, engineers)
- Implement and conduct the clinical trial using adequate methods and tools
- Analyze trial data using statistical and data science methodologies.
- Publish high-quality research papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences
- Present research findings at national and international events
- Supervise and mentor junior researchers and students
- Contribute to grant applications and project management
Your profile
- A PhD in behavioral science (including psychology, cognitive sciences), computer science, or related fields
- Expertise in digital/mobile health interventions
- Experience with clinical trials, and ethical aspects as well as the regulatory frameworks of medical research
- Familiarity with statistical analysis software (e.g., R) and programming languages (e.g., Python)
- Excellent communication skills in German and English.
- A strong motivation to pursue academic excellence
Additional (preferred) qualifications
- Proficient in one of the deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, Tensorflow, JAX)
- Knowledge and experience in using/developing machine learning or neural network-based models for time series / longitudinal data analysis
- Experience using Linux and HPC infrastructure
